SpaceX demolishes Starbase building

By Leila Steed30 August 2023

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has demolished a structure at its Starbase Mid-Bay facility in Boca Chica in Texas, US,

A temporary structure that engineers used to house and assemble starship sections and components, the building was brought down  in the early hours of August 27, 2023.

Over the course of its life, the open-air building supported the assembly of around ten prototype starships and their related power systems.

Its demolition was carried out to make way for the construction of a larger facility, which is already being installed as part of SpaceX’s plans to further develop the site.
