D&RI is pleased to announce that all of the entries for this year’s World Demolition Awards have now been assessed by its panel of expert judges.

All of the results have been received and are being tabulated by D&Ri, which will reveal the shortlist results early next week.

Commenting on the project scores from the judges, Leila Steed, Programme Organiser for the World Demolition Summit, said: “It’s been a fascinating experience for me to see how the judges assess the projects that are being carried out around the world.

“What’s been really wonderful to see is that, despite the varying legislative and regulatory requirements in different countries and regions, the contractors that have entered the awards are carrying out their projects to a universally high level.

“This speaks volumes for the industry, and indicates that the global professional standard of the demolition and dismantling sector is constantly rising.

Leila adds: “While I know those contractors whose projects that didn’t make the shortlists will be disappointed, it is my hope that they will come to the World Summit Summit to share their experiences.

“Our sector is one of the few where, when we meet face-to-face, the sense of community and collaboration is so strong, that people really do feel that it’s like catching up with family and friends. Nowhere else can demolition professionals find this kind of support, passion and determination.”
