LINE OF SIGHT COMMAND CONSOLE

Since no-one designs a building or structure to be torn down, demolition contractors face unique challenges and potentially hazardous conditions from the first moment on the job. COMMAND STATION

As important as safety is, Cat Command offers much more. For specialised crews who travel from job site to job site – sometimes hundreds of miles apart – the remote Cat Command Station eliminates costly trips and keeps operators close to home. Available for select Cat dozers, excavators, wheel loaders and skid steer loaders, the Command Station enables the operator to work remotely in a seated “virtual cab” with familiar controls and machine displays. The comfortable indoor working environment means operator fatigue is greatly reduced. In fact, the noisy and dangerous demolition environment is completely eliminated, replaced by a safe, indoor setting, either on site or miles away.

Matthew Hendry stresses these operational benefits. “The Command Station is universal. An operator can stay in the Command Station and run different types of machines without having to change locations. They could go, for example, from running an excavator with a hammer or a shear in a demolition environment, to operating a skid steer doing some tidy up work.”

Remote control technologies can also reduce idle time. With no need to keep an operator comfortable in the cab, the machine can be turned off, saving on fuel.
