Liebherr extends production capacity

11 June 2008

Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH recently officially handed over a new assembly hall for material handlers at the Kirchdorf site in Germany. The new hall was specifically designed for large machines and high weight categories, and provides considerably improved provision of space compared with the facilities used in the past. With its length of 180 m, width of 128 m and 22.5-metre hook clearance, there is now also ample scope for future requirements.

The new assembly hall building for material handlers was used as an opportunity to optimise the in-house processes and to continue modernisation of the manufacturing facilities in the other production areas as well. The amount to be invested in the whole project comes to 50 million Euros.

Liebherr’s sweeping restructuring now makes it even better placed to react qualitatively as well as quantitatively to growing market requirements, so that it can also continue to be a reliable and safe supplier of high-quality mobile excavators to its customers in the future.
