Bobcat has launched an improved three model range of rotary grinders for its compact loaders and excavators. The RG20 has a standard cutting width of 566 mm (22.6 inch) and is for use the company’s excavators from the E32 through to the E60. The mid range RG40 has a cutting width of 621 mm (24.9 inch) and is for the E80 excavator and skid steers from the S570H through to the S650H as well as the T590H and T650H tracked loaders. The largest, the RG60, has a cutting width of 707 mm (28.3 inch) and is for use with the S770H and S850H skid steers, the T770H and T870H tracked loaders and the A770H all wheel steer loader.

Bobcat rotary grinders are powerful attachments that consist of a double drum, driven by a completely integrated high-torque hydraulic motor. Quieter in operation compared to equivalent hydraulic or pneumatic demolition tools, the attachments still grind powerfully in concrete, asphalt or rock. They also transmit relatively low vibration levels to surrounding structures and produce small diameter debris that can be reused.

The design of the new grinding attachments therefore allows them to be used for applications requiring precise removal of material, without damaging adjacent structures, such as partial removal of walls or other structures. They are also indispensable where standard excavation systems are too weak and percussion systems have little effect, with the ability to dig trenches, for example, through hard and rocky round. They can also be used for less precise work such as demolishing walls and other complete structures and for preparing asphalt or concrete surfaces for repair.
