World Demolition Awards 2026: judging underway

The organisers of the World Demolition Awards closed the deadline for entries on 30 June after a hectic month of activity.

Dozens of emails with entry forms, photos, videos and supporting information filled up the inbox at KHL headquarters, sent in by demolition contractors and suppliers from across the globe.

“It has been a very busy couple of weeks as the volume of submissions slowly but surely accelerated towards the end of June deadline,” said editor of Demolition & Recycling International Neel Madsen.

“We are incredibly excited to report that the number of entries is at the same high level that we have seen in recent years, with companies from North and South America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, India, Thailand and Australia among the entrants.”

The entries are now being judged by a panel of demolition specialists who are kindly lending their expertise to the event to ensure every submission receives the scrutiny it deserves.

The panel will score each entry against a number of criteria over the coming weeks, before sending their results back for the final count and determination of the shortlists.

The nominated companies will be announced on the Demolition & Recycling International website and related social media channels on 25 August.

“Look out for the big announcement in late August as we publish the names of the nominated companies,” added Neel. “However, only a select few people here at KHL Group will know the winners who will be handed the top trophies during the WDA gala dinner in Madrid on 5 November.”
