Yanmar CE restructures European manufacturing footprint

Under the new strategy, the Saint-Dizier plant will receive an investment of €6.5 million (US$7.7 million) to become Yanmar CE’s main European manufacturing site.

A significant portion of this investment will go towards the creation of the new wheeled loader production line, transferred from Yanmar CE’s plant in Crailsheim, Germany, which has now closed. 

The infrastructures of the Saint-Dizier plant will be expanded with a new 5,000m² logistics center equipped with Kardex Shuttle technology.

“With the compact machinery market stabilising and returning to growth, now is the right time to reorganise and invest in capabilities that make us stronger, more agile and even closer to our customers,” said Jon Lopez, President of Yanmar CE’s EMEA region.

Preparations are also underway to expand the mid-size excavator finishing line, where cabs and options are installed to units shipped from Yanmar CE’s plant in Chikugo, Japan. This expansion will be accompanied by the construction of a new prototype workshop dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art products. To support the growth of activity at the facility, approximately 80 new jobs have been created in production, engineering and indirect functions.

All construction and installation works are now entering their final phase. The aim is to progressively increase production capacity during the first quarter of 2026, ensuring that the plant is fully operational in April.

“Saint-Dizier now has the facilities, space and operational readiness to take on all production and support our next phase of growth,” added Lopez.
