UK contractor Wooldridge Demolition has added four more Volvo tracked excavators to its fleet, all of which are specified for the demanding demolition role. The machines consist of two EC210Cs and two EC290Cs, one of which has been supplied with a 17 m (56 ft) three piece high reach rig. This machine also has been supplied with a modular boom joint to allow Wooldridge to switch from high reach to standard configuration quickly and easily. It offers a forward reach of 10 m (33 ft) and can carry a tool weighing up to 2,000 kg (4,400 lb). Ipswich-based boom specialist Kocurek produced the boom itself.

All four machines feature heavy belly guards, FOGS cab protection, side impact protection and bucket cylinder guards. According to Wooldridge director Nick Anderson: “Specification and the robust build of the Volvo product have been the drivers in Wooldridge Demolition’s decision to pursue the Volvo brand.”
