According to organisers Messe Karlsruhe, the three-day trade fair, which was taking place for the first time since 2019, saw around 9,500 visitors descend on the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre to see the latest products and solutions from 210 manufacturers, dealers and service providers.

Olivia Hogenmüller, project manager for RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE said: “RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE 2022 was a great success, with a big rise in visitor numbers and leading industry players featured at the live demonstrations. This is what makes our double trade fair so unique.

“We were able to organise professionally and flexibly to provide all this to a wide audience. I am delighted with the positive feedback we have received from everyone involved. This is also down in no small part to the industry associations represented in our advisory committee, whose technical expertise was invaluable.”

This year’s instalment was the third in which it has brought together industry professionals from the recycling and construction sectors respectively, and organisers believe that the growth in visitors and the success of the event could be down to “the larger scope and the return of personal discussions.”

Indeed, the return of personal discussions and in-person events as global pandemic restrictions ease was also highlighted by some visitors. Carsten Obrecht, CEO at HS Schoch said: “Digital events really struggle to recreate the personal contact.

“The quality of the visitors is very high, with lots of important decision-makers. We have already concluded some sales.”

As well as returning to events, environmentally friendly construction materials and sustainable solutions in construction were also high on the agenda.

This year saw the introduction of the first Sustainable Building Materials Summit which was held alongside RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE.

The one-day summit aimed to give a preview of tomorrow’s construction methods and featured several presentations from key names in the industry, who also shared insight into the latest developments in sustainable construction.

The next RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE will take place from 27 to 29 April 2023 at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre.
