VIP guided tour confirmed for WDS

An exclusive VIP guided tour has been confirmed for delegates attending this year’s World Demolition Summit (WDS), offering a behind-the-scenes look at two major demolition projects in Nashville ahead of the main conference.

The half-day programme, taking place from 07:45 to 12:00, is open to VIP guests only and will begin with a morning meet-up in the foyer of the Caption by Hyatt Downtown Nashville – The Gulch.

Nissan Stadium redevelopment

The first stop will be the Nissan Stadium project, home of the Tennessee Titans, which is scheduled for demolition following the 2026 NFL season. A new $2.2 billion stadium is currently under construction and expected to open in February 2027.

Delegates will hear details on how the existing stadium will be mechanically disassembled, rather than imploded, using cranes and heavy machinery over an eight-month period.

The project aims to recycle 95% of building materials, and the 66-acre site will be redeveloped into a mixed-use district featuring parkland, affordable housing, a boulevard, and other commercial developments.

Demo Plus Group visit

Following the stadium briefing, delegates will travel to Demo Plus Group, a demolition contractor with more than 20 years’ experience and over 2,000 projects completed.

The visit will include access to one or two live demolition sites, providing an insight into the company’s operations across the Nashville area.

One featured project, located at 1587 Vultee Blvd, near BNA Airport, involves the demolition of a 600,000-square-foot industrial facility.

City highlights

If time permits, delegates will also enjoy a driving tour of Nashville, taking in the Tennessee State Capitol, Printers Alley, and other key landmarks that highlight the city’s rich history and cultural vibrancy.

The tour will conclude around 12:00pm, with return drop-offs at both the Music City Center and the Caption by Hyatt Downtown.

The VIP guided tour promises to be a highlight of the WDS programme, combining exclusive access to high-profile demolition projects with a chance to experience the evolving landscape of Music City.
