Vegas debut for Telsmith T400

18 February 2014

Telsmith, part of the Astec group of companies, will use ConExpo to give an official launch for its new high capacity T400 cone crusher, which it claims offers the largest clearing stroke and crushing force in its class. The T400 delivers 300 kW performance and offers a throughput of between 135 to 545 tonnes per hour. Telsmith says that the new unit has been engineered for maximum productivity and lower operating costs, and features a large clearing circuit engineered to safely and quickly allow uncrushable materials to pass. This new cone is ideal for tough mining and quarrying applications, says the company.

The T400 features a 1.4 m (4.6 ft) receiving hopper, replaceable mainframe liners and epoxy-secured manganese steel crushing members. A single bowl is used for all liners over its range of operation to minimise downtime and reduce inventory costs.

The T400 also features a new and improved patent-pending anti-spin feature that prevents head spin to extend manganese life, mounted on the top of the machine, as with other key components, to offer easy top service access. It has been designed to operate with pressure lubricating oil, while not using a gear box and a separate hydraulic circuit. It has been designed with six cylinders – fewer in number than that of conventional units – yet offers the largest crushing force available, says the company.
