This project, which is the third collaboration between the Vattenfall IDNO and IUS companies, aims to support MGL Group’s sustainability objectives.

A provider pf civil engineering, demolition, earthworks, road surfacing, asphalt production, quarrying, aggregates and recycling services, MGL’s upgrade project will see the electrical capacity of its site increase from 800 kVa to approximately 2000 kVa.

A new transformer will also be installed, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing both carbon emissions and operating costs.

Mark Davison, Chief Executive of MGL Group, described the upgrade as a significant step forward: “The enhanced electrical capacity will enable us to expand our operations, reduce our carbon footprint, and improve energy efficiency.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration to drive sustainable innovation.”

Stewart Dawson, Managing Director at Vattenfall IDNO, added: “This project highlights the role of collaboration in achieving ambitious sustainability goals.

“By supporting MGL Group in their journey toward net zero and adopting the essential network infrastructure for their new grid connection, we’re proud to be playing a part in building a cleaner, greener future.”

Vattenfall IDNO described its partnership with IUS as being reflective of its ongoing commitment to working with independent connections providers and businesses, across various industries to deliver essential infrastructure and support net zero goals.

Tony Askins, Business Development Manager at IUS, added: “Partnering with Vattenfall to deliver this essential infrastructure as an independent connections provider solidifies our strong relationship as we share their commitment to sustainable energy solutions.”
