UN seeks demolition engineer for Haiti

The United Nationals Office of Project Services (UNOPS) is currently looking for a demolition engineer with at least five years of experience to work on the demolition of earthquake damaged buildings in the Haitian capital of Port au Prince. The ability to speak French would be a positive advantage.

David Sinclair continues in his role with UNOPS on the island, although home work commitments are currently casuing him to work one month in Haiti and the next in Scotland with Safedem.

The person would be involved with the demolition of 1,800 houses and the removal of 160,000 cubic metres (5.65 million cubic feet) of rubble in areas of the city affected by the earthquake in January 2010.

The job will be based in Port au Prince and run from September 2011 to March 2012. Those interested in applying for this position should send their CV to [email protected], copied to [email protected].
