The Terex rough terrain and tower crane businesses have been moved into the Materials Processing segment

Construction equipment manufacturer Terex has moved its rough terrain and tower cranes businesses into its Materials Processing division.

The two cranes businesses, both based in Italy, were put under the corporate heading after the crane division was disbanded following the sale of Demag in 2019. Marco Gentilini, vice president and general manager of the two cranes businesses, now reports to Kieran Hegarty, Terex Materials Processing president.

The move follows the Terex plan to “align all of its business operations within two business segments, Aerial Work Platforms based in Redmond, Washington [USA] and Materials Processing, based in Dungannon, Northern Ireland,” the company said.

Commenting on the move, John Garrison, Terex Corporation chairman, president and CEO, said, “Consistent with our Focus, Simplify, and Execute to Win strategy, all of our businesses are now aligned with the potential for long-term profitable growth. These crane businesses will be an excellent fit within the diverse MP portfolio of equipment businesses.”

Kieran Hegarty said, “Like our other MP businesses, tower and rough terrain cranes utilise distinct channels in their markets and will be a great addition to our portfolio. We plan to support their continued growth with investment in new products and global sales and marketing.”
