Sunbelt Rentals in the UK has added an undisclosed number of Faresin 6.26 full electric telehandlers to its rental fleet.

The company, which was rebranded last year to fall in line its counterpart business in the US, said the equipment order was made as part of its commitment to sustainability.

While the value of the order was kept confidential, Dave Harris, Sunbelt Rentals’ sales and marketing director, said, “Our commitment to innovation, especially in the green arena, has led to the purchase of these machines. We have seen that they have been introduced to the market with great effect and are already being requested on major national infrastructure projects”.

“Whilst Italian manufacturer Faresin is a relative newcomer to the construction sector, they have a heritage spanning almost five decades”.

Said to be the first of their kind on the market, the Faresin electric telehandler model is fitted with a lithium-ion battery pack that provides up to six hours of standard use. The machine’s standard 300Ah battery can be recharged in 1.5 hours from zero with Faresin’s external fast charger option.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the all-wheel drive model has a maximum lift capacity of 2.6 tonnes (2600kg) and a working height of 5.9m. It offers low noise and zero CO2 emissions, for work in urban and environmentally sensitive areas.

In addition to offering lower maintenance costs, Faresin said its electric telehandler also provided owners with reduced running costs compared to equipment with traditional internal combustion engines.

The electric telehandlers were supplied by GGR Group, which provides access equipment and mini spider cranes across Europe and the United Arab Emirates via its three UK depots and 30 European dealerships.

Harris said, “The partnership with GGR Group gives confidence in the level of support that we should expect with this product. It is reassuring to know that their eye for innovation is supporting the introduction of this product to the market.”
