ShearCore introduces Fortress FC75 next-gen processor

Designed and manufactured in Superior, Wisconsin, the FC75 shear fills a ‘critical’ gap in the Fortress FC series and “introduces a new standard in demolition attachment technology,” said the company.

The FC75 features Fortress’s modular tooth system, which can be used in place of traditional multi-jaw configuration.

The new design allows operators to configure interchangeable tooth sets on a single fixed jaw structure, instead of using multiple attachments or complex jaw swaps.

This enables easier transitions between primary demolition, secondary pulverising and material processing, reducing downtime, cost and operational complexity.

“Contractors have long faced inefficiencies caused by equipment changeovers and redundant tooling,” said Mark Baltes, vice president of sales and marketing.

“The FC75 was designed to solve that problem; delivering a single, flexible solution that aligns with real-world demolition demands.”

ShearCore listed a number of other features designed to improve performance:

• Tight tolerances for effective tip-based rebar cutting, including with pulveriser teeth
• Long cutting knives process large reinforcements, including beams
• Apexed jaw design for improved material capture at the throat
• Bypassing teeth to simplify sorting and reduce rehandling

The processor also incorporates an active pivot greasing system, which the company said reduces wear on components while increasing reliability in harsh working conditions.

In addition, the FC75 comes with over-sized access panels, a simplified internal layout and rebuildable components for faster maintenance and longer equipment life.

It weighs approximately 14,500 lbs (6.6 metric tonnes) and is designed for carriers starting at 34 tonnes (second member) or 57 tonnes (third member).

The company also highlighted that the modular tooth system is available on the larger FC95 shear too.
