Sennebogen 850 R Special

12 March 2008

Schroll Wetzel GmbH is using a Sennebogen 850 R Special to process scrap metals at its facility in Mannheim, Germany. The 850 R is fitted with a 21 m (69 ft) boom and 1.4 m3 orange peel grab, which it uses to load the facility's 2,100 tonne shears. The machine is handling 10 tonnes of mixed metal waste, efficiently and quietly, every hour. Power for the machine is from an electric motor rather than a more traditional diesel, making the machine extremely quiet in operation. It is fitted with a crawler undercarriage and has a 10 m (33 ft) 'extension cable'.
