SBM puts mobile efficiency on show in Las Vegas

For the first time, both mobile rock crushers and concrete mixing plants from the Austrian manufacturer will be on stage together in Las Vegas.

The tracked SBM REMAX 600 large impact crusher will make its North American trade show debut.

The 80-tonne flagship machine can be used either as a primary crusher or as a mobile gravel or recycling plant.

It has a maximum crushing capacity of 600 tonnes per hour and a feed size of up to 40 in (1,000 mm). In “plant” configuration, it can produce up to five end products in a single pass.

The hybrid electrified drive consists of an onboard Cummins X15 diesel engine paired with a 520 kVA generator and predominantly electric auxiliary drives.

SBM says the REMAX 600 consumes up to 40% less diesel than comparable hydraulic or partially electrified systems and delivers advantages in uptime and environmental performance.

On the concrete production front, the flagship EUROMIX 4000 will be on display.

The mobile wet-batch mixing plant features a 5.2 yd³ (4.0 m³) BHS twin-shaft mixer and a production capacity of 230 yd³/hr (175 m³/hr). It can be installed and ready for operation in less than two days and is suitable for year-round, temporary use in road construction, civil engineering, and tunnelling projects.

In addition, SBM reports that it is increasingly seeing ready-mix producers and precast manufacturers choosing its EUROMIX technology as “a highly flexible alternative to stationary plants – especially where space is limited or relocation capability is required.”
