Powerscreen of Canada marks 50 years in business

Powerscreen of Canada has marked its 50th year in operation. The distributor was established in 1975 and has since provided crushing, screening, washing, and recycling equipment across Canada.

“Reaching 50 years in business is a tremendous achievement, and we are extremely proud of the entire team at Powerscreen of Canada,” said Sean Loughran, Business Line Director for Powerscreen.

“The Farmer family are well known and respected on the global crushing and screening stage. As one of our original and longest serving distributors, they have become synonymous with the Powerscreen brand—embodying our values of innovation, quality, and customer support.”

In a statement, Powerscreen of Canada said: “We are honoured to be celebrating this milestone. Little did we realise—when we started out in the 1970s marketing the small but highly efficient MKI Screening Plant to an industry struggling with fine, wet, and sticky aggregate materials—that this would become our springboard into a business that would grow into the much larger Powerscreen portfolio today, encompassing crushing, screening, washing, and recycling equipment.

“Our success reflects the hard work, effort, and resilience of our employees—and not forgetting the close relationships and trust we have with our customers, who make this all possible. As the saying goes—from small acorns, big oak trees grow.”

To commemorate the anniversary, Brian Farmer of Powerscreen of Canada visited Doughty Aggregates, a customer that still operates an original 1974 Powerscreen screening plant.
