Quick coupler and attachments specialist OilQuick has developed a completely new grapple module for its tiltrotators, that will be available in four different sizes and is suitable for handling road pipes, culverts and similar objects.

The GM950, the first model of the new attachment line, is now available on the market.  Described as being able to meet “all high demands”, it comprises 3-finger grapple jaws made of high-strength steel, which are able to close tightly and handle objects measuring down to just 12 mm in diameter.

A key feature of the GM950 is that it incorporates the OEM’s OQ Sync system, which enables faster and more precise control of the grapple jaws.

OilQuick said: “With OQ Sync, automatic equalization of the jaws occurs every time the grapple jaws are fully closed.

“This completely eliminates the risk of the jaws becoming out of sync, for example, in case of uneven loading or when slow closing the jaws. OQ Sync ensures that the grapple jaws always meet tip-to-tip and that all lifts occur centered in the grapple.”

Featuring protect grapple tips that are place inside the edge of the module’s frame when the grapple is fully close, OilQuick’s new line of grapples feature hydraulic cylinders that are protected in fixed brackets, with no loose parts that risk breaking or coming loose.

The first model, the GM950, can be used with OilQuick’s OQ70 and OQ65 quick couplers and can therefore be applied to OilQuick’s E19, E26 and E33 tiltrotators (E19, E26, E33). More models will be released throughout this and next year for other quick couplers and tiltrotators.
