O'Donovan invests in recycling plant

22 May 2014

North-west London, UK, based waste management company O’Donovan Waste Disposal has recently invested more than £500,000 (US$850,000) in a new recycling plant at its Scrubs Lane facility. The new plant, including an electric trommel, conveyor and picking station supplied by Powerscreen Midlands and Kiverco, is now commissioned and is delivering an improved throughput of the construction and demolition waste sorted on the site, with the plant capable of handling 40 tonnes per hour.

“Investing in new equipment is always a big commitment, but as the construction industry gets moving again we are seeing increasing amounts of C&D waste being processed at Scrubs Lane,” said Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director at O’Donovan Waste Disposal.

“The new plant is not only delivering significant benefits in terms of processing increased tonnages each day, but also in terms of efficiency and reduced emissions, which is a core part of our Greener Vision Strategy. As a business, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and this new processing line will help us further build upon the reduction in our carbon emissions we’ve achieved over the last four years.”
