New Managing Director for Inmalo
22 September 2025
Inmalo, the UK supplier of hydraulic attachments and dust control systems, has appointed Charles Polak as Managing Director.
The move sees Charles, the third generation of the Polak family to lead the business, take over from his father, John, who remains actively involved but steps back from day-to-day management.
Founded in 1946 by Lt. Col. Arnost Polak, a veteran of the Czechoslovakian Air Force and 311 Squadron, International Marketers London Ltd. began life in a London bedsit, supplying excavator and bulldozer tracks to support post-war demolition and rebuilding efforts.
By the 1950s, rapid growth had led to a storage yard in Chertsey, and the company became a supplier as demolition methods evolved.
John Polak joined the business in 1975, guiding Inmalo through the 1980s as the industry shifted towards hydraulic attachments for modern excavators. In 2011, the third generation arrived when Charles joined the firm, expanding its portfolio with powerful dust suppression systems.
Reflecting on the handover, Charles said: “Our success has always been built on trust in providing high quality equipment, investing in stock availability with excellent back-up and service, which has been pivotal in creating long-term customer relationships and confidence.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the family business with the excellent team at Inmalo. My focus will be on finding innovative equipment to bring to the UK and supplying it with back up that is second to none.”
