NDA tells Biden: There’s still more to do on Covid

Premium Content

With new US President Joe Biden making Covid-19 relief legislation his top priority over the next 100 days, the country’s National Demolition Association (NDA) is actively engaging the Biden administration and Congress in support of relief provisions that will benefit the demolition industry.

The NDA said there are still critcial provisions to address in the next round of Covid relief

The association has written to Congress detailing key industry priorities for the next relief bill. It has also created a new grassroots campaign where members can echo this message by contacting their own elected officials in support of the demolition industry.

The NDA said it has lobbied Congress for several months on the need for Covid relief legislation that reflects the priorities of the demolition industry.

But while many industry priorities have passed in previous bills, there are still critical provisions that the NDA would like to see addressed in the next round of Covid relief. These include:

  • Employer liability protections
  • Balanced supplemental unemployment insurance
  • Small business relief
  • Vaccination programme funding
  • Infrastructure funding.

The NDA represents close to 500 companies across a range of demolition activities.
