Monitoring for dust and noise
09 May 2013
Casella’s recently launched Boundary Guardian has been selected to monitor noise and dust levels on a construction site in Portsmouth, UK. The system is said to be the first simultaneous multi parameter monitor for noise, dust and wind speed and direction in the UK from a single manufacturer. Derbyshire-based environmental and engineering project specialist Merebrook Consulting considered the system the best solution for its client’s needs.
According the Merebrook’s Linford Shacklady: “We needed a monitoring device in order to help us to meet the regulatory requirements and conditions imposed as part of the remediation work being undertaken at the construction site in Portsmouth. Casella’s Boundary Guardian is not only reliable, offering prompt service and fault resolution, it is fully autonomous, saving both man-hours and costs during long term projects.”
The Boundary Guardian offers reliability in the testing outdoor environment of this site where it is used to monitor continually PM10 – levels of small particles that are likely to cause adverse health effects - and noise levels, and where it is interrogated regularly by a full-time Merebrook site engineer.
