McGee takes Volvos
10 April 2008
UK contractor McGee Group has added four Volvo hydraulic excavators to its 60 machine fleet, fully spec'd for demolition activities, in the shape of two 21 tonne EC210C models and two 46 tonne EC460C machines, each with full heavy duty FOGS guarding, underbelly and side protection, and additional hydraulic services for demolition attachments. One of the EC460Cs will also be equipped with a long reach boom designed by Ipswich-based boom specialist Kocurek that will enable it to reach down to a depth of 23 metres (76 ft). This is the first time that McGee has taken on equipment from Volvo and according to Pete Duggan, McGee Group's director of plant and transport; one reason for the decision was Volvo's reputation for good after sales support.
