This year’s World Demolition Summit is just days away as the industry prepares to return to an in-person event for the first time in two years.
Chicago, USA, will host the summit, which starts on the evening of Wednesday October 20 with a drinks reception before going into conference mode the next morning, with the World Demolition Awards dinner rounding things off on the night of Thursday October 21.
Speakers from the host country include James van Nortwick of GE, who will give the keynote, followed by Dennis McGarel (Brandenburg Industrial Service Company), Tim Barker (Resolute Decommissioning and Demolition), Devin Bennett (Loss Prevention Systems) and Kelly Veit, CEO of contractor Veit and Company.
There will also be presentations from companies outside the USA, featuring Jet Demolition of South Africa’s managing director Joe Brinkmann, UK contractor Safedem’s MD William Sinclair, and Patrick Grandchamp from the European Demolition Association (EDA) hazardous materials working group.
Apart from the summit. the US National Demolition Association (NDA) will hold a Foundations of Demolition Risk Management course on Friday October 22.
The NDA course will take place at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel, the same venue as the World Demolition Summit, and you can find more details of it here.
