Lautenbach Recycling consolidates operations with new Bellingham site

Lautenbach Recycling has purchased 24 acres of industrial property in the Irongate Industrial Park in Bellingham, Washington, as part of a strategic move to consolidate its operations in Whatcom County.

Having begun renovation works at the site last month, the company said the new site would also house its sister company NWR Storage Containers, which is part of the Lautenbach group.

The move brings the two businesses under one roof and is intended to streamline operations.

Currently, residents in Bellingham lack a local self-haul recycling option for construction and demolition (C&D) waste.

Lautenbach said the new facility would address this by accepting materials such as wood, drywall, metal, concrete, asphalt, and cardboard.

“We are thrilled to take this next step in our growth and better serve the Bellingham community,” said Troy Lautenbach, President of Lautenbach Recycling. “This new facility will streamline our operations and offer local residents a much-needed resource for recycling.”

The site will also offer hauling services for residential and commercial clients.

Founded in 1991 by brothers Troy and Torrey Lautenbach, the company provides transportation, demolition recycling, roll-off services, food waste depackaging, and composting across the Pacific Northwest.

It operates several businesses under its umbrella, including Skagit Soils, San Juan Transfer Station, and NWR Container Rentals.
