Komatsu increases productivity with PC88MR-11

Komatsu has launched its new PC88MR-11 midi excavator for the European market.

An upgrade of its PC88MR-10, the 8.5 t excavator offers a 7% increase in productivity based on faster hoist and swing functions.
The PC88MR-11 is equipped with a Stage V compliant, 50.7 kW engine, which replaces the Stage IIIB unit used on the -10 model. This lowers fuel consumption by 6%, while levelling speed is 14% higher and the oil flow to attachments has increased by 12%.
The engine is equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) but Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is not required.
Among other changes are a 20mm reduction in transport height; larger access doors; a redesigned blade for better dozing; a repositioning of the low/high gear switch to improve ergonomics; and an automatic change-over valve for higher comfort when changing attachments.
Simone Reddi, Komatsu Europe Product Manager for midi excavators, said; “This is not just a simple model update. The PC88MR-11 introduces several improvements in digging performances and structure. The whole dig-loading cycle is improved, increasing production, giving the feeling of a faster machine.
“Last but not least, this latest Komatsu midi excavator features the European debut of the brand new EU Stage V Komatsu 2.4 liter engine with KDPF (no SCR needed).”
The machine is available with the factory-fitted Lehnhoff Powertilt option, which combines a quick-coupler with a tilt motor for an improved working range. The excavator’s cab features a heated air-suspension seat, a multi-function monitor with a 7in LCD colour display and a rear and side view camera system.
