Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe celebrated its 10th year since re-establishing its European business with a major event for dealers and customers in November, and used the occasion to announce it will move its European headquarters to Lelystad, the Netherlands, not far from its current Almere base.

The much-larger and purpose built site, which is expected to open in 2025, will comprise 17,500m2 of buildings on a 30,000m2 site owned by Kobelco.

It will have a warehouse, three-storey offices and a building dedicated to training facilities, workshop and showroom.

Kobelco, which showed its recently launched SK26SR-7 mini excavator at the event, said that in 10 years it had grown its dealer network to 40 locations in Europe, CIS and the Maghreb.

Its products in the region now range from the 1t SK08 mini excavator to its 90t SK850LC excavator, as well as demolition machinery and lattice boom crawler cranes from 55-550t.

KCME Managing Director, Makoto Kato, said; “I am extremely proud of what KCME has achieved since our re-establishment in Europe in 2013 and want to extend my gratitude to all our dealers, partners, customers and employees, who have continued to be loyal to the Kobelco brand over the past decade.

“Looking to the future, we are excited to further reinforce our commitment to the European market and are proud to be taking an important step in expanding our headquarters to a new, larger purpose-built facility in Lelystad.

“We look forward to another ten years of our close collaboration.”
