KHL begins major UK office redevelopment with demolition the first step

05 November 2012

KHL Group, publisher of Demolition & Recycling International, has started a major development of its headquarter offices near Tunbridge Wells in the south-east of the UK. Initial demolition works were started this morning by local contractor Kent Demolition with most of the work carried out by a Komatsu PC210LC. A JLG MEWP is also being used by specialist contractors who are removing asbestos from the structures prior to their demolition.

The redevelopment of KHL’s main UK HQ will see office space expanded by almost 400% with added features such as gym unit, communal meeting and social areas, and insulated recording suite.

The project is being handled by main contractor, Baxall Construction. Demolition, including specialist removal of roof sheeting, was expected to take up to two weeks with the main project period spanning an estimated 49 weeks – including full refurbishment of the existing office buildings. Architect on the project is Mervyn Spates of Blue Ridge Designs.
