JCB’s biggest X series excavator to debut at Hillhead

Taking centre stage will be the new 520X crawler excavator, JCB’s largest and most powerful X series machine to date.

Part of the Heavyline range, the 50-tonne class excavator has been developed for heavy-duty applications, from mass excavation and aggregate extraction to demolition and crusher loading.

It will be joined by the 40-tonne class new 420X crawler excavator.

JCB will also showcase its compaction equipment portfolio including the new VM138D single drum soil compactor.

The 9T Dual Drive site dumper will demonstrate the company’s latest advances in site dumper productivity, visibility and site safety.

Using similar technology to JCB’s Dual Drive backhoe loader, the system allows operators to rotate the seat and controls, so they are always facing in the direction of travel.

The company will also offer a preview of its new 715 articulated dump truck (ADT).

The compact two-axle ADT delivers a 12,750 kg payload and has been engineered to offer high productivity and fast cycle times in off-road hauling applications, according to JCB.

Alongside the static display and live demonstrations, the after-sales team will show the latest developments to the LiveLink system and the new Parts Online e-commerce platform, which provides 24/7 access to more than 50,000 genuine parts and attachments.
