United States National Demolition Association (NDA) president Peter Banks has chaired his final board meeting before he hands over the reins to his successor Scott Knightly at the end of this month.

Peter told the meeting in Las Vegas: “The last two years have gone very fast and the reason they have gone so fast is that everyone has made it so easy.

“It has been a pleasure working with you and my thanks go to everyone on the board and all the committee chairs.

“I look forward to being past president.”

Scott Knightly, who will be formally inaugurated as the new president at a ceremony on Tuesday, paid a handsome tribute to the man whose shoes he will be stepping into.

“Peter took us through a transition, which was not an easy transition,” he said.

“Since 2007 he has flown around 117,000 miles on NDA business.”

The new vice president of the NDA, replacing Scott Knightly, is Chris Godek.

He steps up from the position of secretary.

The meeting also included a special presentation to both Peter and Scott from Steve Ducker, editor of Demolition & Recycling International magazine, in recognition of their chairing sessions at the World Demolition Summit in Miami last October.
