Hear about major explosive projects at WDS 2021
07 April 2021
Demolition & Recycling International is delighted to announce that William Sinclair will present a paper on British contractor Safedem’s record-breaking demolition of the Mina Plaza in the United Arab Emirates at this year’s World Demolition Summit (WDS).
In addition, Joe Brinkmann – managing director of South African demolition specialist Jet Demolition – will describe in detail his company’s controlled implosion of the fire-damaged Bank of Lisbon building in Johannesburg.
This was selected by our international judging panel as the overall World Demolition Award winner across all categories for 2020.
The WDS takes place in Chicago, USA, on 20 and 21 October and this will be the third time in five years that it has visited North America, after the record attendance at Boston in 2019 and a well attended event in Miami in 2016.
This year’s event has already secured once again the headline sponsorship of leading manufacturer Volvo Construction Equipment.
Organised by Demolition & Recycling International in co-operation with the European Demolition Association (EDA) and the US National Demolition Association (NDA), it will follow the traditional format of a welcome drinks reception to be followed by a conference the next day and awards dinner on the Thursday evening.
The WDS website at www.demolitionsummit.com has been updated with details of how to book online as well as advice on submitting a conference paper or entering for the World Demolition Awards.
