Going for flexibility

17 February 2015

Preston, UK, based Bradley Demolition Ltd has taken delivery of its first ever Volvo excavator in the shape of a Stage IV compliant 30 tonne EC300E that is powered by a Volvo 8 litre diesel developing 179 kW (240 hp). The machine has been equipped with a heavy duty screen guard and FOGS protection for the operator’s compartment, and the optional x3 hydraulic rotation circuit has been included. (Hammer/shear and quick fit hydraulic services are standard).

Bradley has also added a Lehnhoff Variolock quick coupler which, besides attaching the tool to the machine also automatically quick couples the hydraulic services as the hitch is engaged. Each tool has a dedicated head that matches precisely to the hydraulic connections on the quick coupler, thus making coupling and decoupling fast, efficient and safe. It also reduces potential damage to hoses and couplings that could be prone to contamination that would otherwise be left attached to the tool when not in use.

According to Bradley Demolition's managing director Paul Johnson: “We needed to replace an existing 30 tonne machine for the fleet and considered the Volvo to be well specified with a superior build quality when we looked at the market,” he said. “The package on offer and the prospect of good residual values well into the future were additional selling features that helped us decide upon the new Volvo EC300E.”
