Gaming company partners with construction OEMs to create realistic game play

Construction Simulator Evolution is the latest chapter in a series of computer games from publisher Astragon Entertainment and developer Weltenbauer in Germany.

The simulator game allows players to control machines, take on manual labour and master both construction and demolition projects across two locations, one in an idyllic German landscape and another in a Midwestern city in the US.

Players can choose from a variety of excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, dumper trucks, asphalt compactors and demolition machines from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, CIFA, JCB, Kenworth, Liebherr, Sany, and many others.

In this latest version, heavy construction machinery from Ammann, Sennebogen and Volvo Construction Equipment have also been added as the developers continue to extend their collaboration with major OEMs.

Demolition will now be included, allowing single or multi-player games to take down buildings using hydraulic hammers, shears and other specialised equipment.

According to Astragon, realistic destruction physics and a variety of tools will allow players to decide exactly how a building is demolished mechanically.

Players can also choose from a variety of jobs and even customise their construction worker by choosing their workwear and safety equipment, with licensed outfits from Bobcat and Strauss.

Construction Simulator Evolution is due for release later in the year and will be available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
