The former Wangler furniture store in Regensburg, Germany has been demolished.

The building, which had stood empty for 10 years, was taken down by a 25-member demolition team via a controlled method using a Sennebogen 830 E demolition excavator.

The 45 t model, which has a reach of 19 m (62 ft) and a width of 4.5 m (14 ft 9 in), was used by to remove material and for on-site crushing and sorting.

Andreas Feigl, operator at Metz Erdbau, said: “Despite its compact dimensions, the 45 t machine is very stable. This is especially evident when we are handling high load capacities, I rarely noticed it vibrate or shake.”

The machine also features an elevating Maxcab with a 30 degree tilt that allows the operator a view height of 6 m (19 ft 8 in).

Christian Metz, founder and managing director of Metz Erdbau, said: “The Sennebogen 830 E comes out really well in the time-money-precision ratio.

“The low consumption of the economical stage V diesel engine and the fact that there is barely any downtime thanks to fewer refuelling stops and quick grab changes has completely won us over.”
