Construction Equipment Group AS (CEG) from Norway, Craig Manufacturing from Canada, Daedong Engineering from South Korea, and Pacific JCB from the United States, have all become new alliance members.

Anders Jonsson, Chairman of the Board of Open-S Alliance, said: “We warmly welcome the new members who will further strengthen the work to establish an open industry standard for automatic couplers.

“We believe that this common foundation will encourage innovation and a healthy competition.”

Created back in 2019 and formalised in 2020, the Open-S Standard to create a common open, manufacturer-independent, global standard for automatic quick couplers.

It will allow machine owners and contractors the freedom to combine couplers, tiltrotators and work tools from different manufacturers following the Open-S standard.

Speaking of his company’s decision to join the alliance, Jeongyel Park, CEO at Daegong Engineering, said: “We seek to join the Open-S organization to collaborate with industry leaders in fully automatic quick couplers.

“This partnership strengthens our commitment to innovation and enhances Daedong’s ability to deliver advanced solutions and value to our global customers.”

While Craig Manufacturing and Pacific JCB - a Forklift Services of America Company and a JCB Construction Equipment and Steelwrist dealer that operates in Washington and Oregan - are the first two North American companies to join the initiative, Open-S has already attracted support from major European OEM’s.

Back in April of this year, German compact machine manufacturer Wacker Neuson joined Kinshofer, Rotar and Volvo Construction Equipment as part of the alliance.

Today, the alliance comprises 13 member companies, including AGRI Manutention, KH-Maskin, Rototilt, SMP Parts and Steelwrist.
