Designed for demanding recycling applications, the new Caiman 150 is a 16 t machine that can handle construction and demolition waste, asphalt, skip waste, green waste and wood waste, as well as household waste such as mattresses.

Andrew Armstrong, Product Manager for EvoQuip, said: “We are excited to launch the first EvoQuip shredder, which will take the recycling side of our business to a new level.

“Its use in C&D applications in particular ties in with our ‘Think Green, Think EvoQuip’ campaign, which illustrates our commitment and responsibility to sustainability.

“Forty percent of our machines are currently used in recycling applications, and the addition of the Caiman 150 will strengthen this ability of EvoQuip to offer solutions that reduce environmental impact globally.”

The compact shredder is powered by a Stage V-compliant Caterpillar engine and offers transport dimensions of 8.4 m in legnth (27 ft 8 in), 2.5 m in width (8 ft 2 in) and 3.05m (10 ft) in height, making it suitable for use on sites where space is limited.

The EvoQuip Caiman 150 shredder’s twin shaft produces up to 80,000 Nm of torque, and according to the manufacturer, the shaft assembly can be easily changed to accommodate different applications.

On the technology side of things, the model features a user-friendly control system that allows operators to use predefined shredding modes, as well as to define their own operating parameters.

The model also comes with EvoQuip’s T-Link telematics system, which provides machines users and owners with machine data, including location, fuel consumption and operating performance, in real time.
