European and US demolition associations strengthen close ties

The event, held on 4 to 7 February, gathered over 1,200 demolition professionals and industry experts. It was attended by EDA president Patrick Frye and Secretary General Jose Blanco.

During the meeting, Mr Frye had the opportunity to share a few words on the importance of transatlantic cooperation between the two associations:

“Even if we come from different countries, we do the same job, a demanding job that requires experience and trust. This convention shows the strength of our industry.”

He also underlined the warm welcome extended by the American association and the shared vision of the challenges, opportunities and values, adding, “What I feel here in Phoenix is exactly what I feel in Europe, the strong community, shared values, and people who understand each other.”

Ben Hayden, president of the NDA and vice president of operations at Hayden Wrecking, was equally glowing in his commitment to the partnership.

He said, “I would like to thank Jose Blanco and Patrick Fryre for making the trip. Even though we are separated by an ocean, we have found that we share many of the same issues. The ability to work together, share best practices and leverage our collective knowledge strengthens the industry and sets higher standards for everyone involved.”

To symbolise the bond between the two associations, Mr Frye presented a commemorative gift that represents the partnership and the commitment to collaboration across borders.
