Endesa’s €2.7bn plan for Spanish wind projects

Spanish utilities company Endesa has announced plans to develop 1,300MW of wind energy, following the resolution to close the As Pontes thermal power plant in Galicia, Spain.

The 40-year-old power plant produces 1,400MW of power from coal, but the Spanish government has given the green light to a full decommissioning of its four 350MW units, in line with its carbon-reduction commitments.
