Extec equipment in the shape of a C 10 crusher and E 7 screen is allowing Scottish plant hire and earthworks contractor Miller Plant to diversify into C&D waste processing

Scottish plant hire and earthworks contractor Miller Plant, based in Aberdeen, Scotland has made a major diversification move into the construction and demolition waste processing side of the business from its yard in North Lurg.

Extec equipment forms the core of the equipment Miller has purchased as part of this move, The company first bought a C 10 tracked mobile crusher and a E 7 tracked mobile screen, and the company has subsequently added a C 12+ tracked mobile crusher.

According to managing director Ian Miller, when the C 10 and E 7 joined the Miler fleet: “Our [plant hire] customers soon realised that we had a crusher available and started to hire it. We simply had no idea that there would be this much demand for a mobile crusher. Its never in the yard now, its constantly on hire.” He continued, with regard to the purchase of the larger C 12 + unit: “We basically had no choice but to add a larger Extec C 12+ to our fleet. I just hope that, having bought a larger machine, we might actually get to use it ourselves from time to time.”
