Demolition Awards entries to be put to the test

05 August 2015

The closing date for the 2015 World Demolition Awards on Friday 31 July saw high standard entries flood in to the KHL office over the few days prior from contractors in Australasia, India, Europe, and North and South America. As a result, the eight leading industry individuals who make up the international judging panel will certainly have their work cut out in selecting the eventual winners.

Initially, the panel will be tasked with carrying out an assessment of all the entries in each category they have been asked to judges with a view to determining shortlists from which the eventual winners will be determined. We hope to be in a position to announce the entries/companies that have made it onto these shortlists by the end of this month. The judges will then commence a more detailed assessment of each entry in those categories to select an eventual winner.

Given the number of entries, to spread the workload of these busy people the panel has been split into two groups, with each group assessing a more manageable number of categories. As a result, judges in one group will have no knowledge whatsoever of the possible results of the categories assessed by the other, This means that, with careful organisation, the judges presenting Awards to fortunate and well deserving winners on the night of the Summit (6 November, 2015) will only know the results themselves when they open the envelopes to announce them. This procedure also allows for entries from the judges’ companies to be accepted since the judges concerned can be easily isolated from the judging process for the category containing their entry.

The shortlists will be posted to www.khl.com/demolition, announced via social media and appear in the next scheduled D&Ri e-Newsletter immediately they become available. If you submitted an entry or entries, therefore keep your eyes on your smartphone, tablet or computer screen, and good luck!
