Cuddy Group appoints construction director
16 November 2011
UK contractor Cuddy Group has appointed Gavin Lockyer to the position of construction director, with responsibility for driving growth within the company's civil engineering and housing division. He will report to and work closely with board director Darren Evans.
Gavin has been with Cuddy for the last three years, starting off as a site manager, then bcoming contracts manager in 2011 after a stint as project manager.
Cuddy Group managing director Mike Cuddy said of the appointment: "Despite the difficult economic climate of recent years, Cuddy's construction team has continued to excel. In three years the number of employees has doubled, turnover has trebled and the division has increasingly secured larger and more complex civil engineering schemes. It is therefore important that the department evolves in alignment with this, so that we have the right personnel development, quality control, health and safety and innovation processes and procedures in place."
He went on: "Whilst Cuddy's demolition expertise is renowned on a national and even international scale, our civils division has traditionally concentrated on projects within Wales. Yet we have recently been appointed to pave the way for new developments in Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare, and our strategy will be to carefully build upon this nationwide expansion success over the next 18 months."
