CRH and Heidelberg Materials acquire NCC operations
12 October 2026
NCC has agreed to sell its Industry division to CRH and Heidelberg Materials in a transaction valued at SEK 8.2 billion (€733 million).
The Sweden-based construction and infrastructure group NCC, which also operates aggregates, asphalt and construction materials recycling businesses across the Nordic region, said this will allow it to concentrate more closely on construction and infrastructure contracting.
Under the agreement, CRH will acquire NCC Industry’s operations in Denmark and Finland, including Finnish quarrying, backfilling and recycling activities. Heidelberg Materials will acquire the Swedish and Norwegian businesses.
NCC Industry recorded sales of SEK 12.6 billion (€1.13 billion) in 2025. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval, with completion expected during the second half of 2027.

Peter Buckley, president, CRH International, said, “This acquisition is strongly aligned with CRH’s strategy to build an aggregates-led, connected portfolio aligned with growing infrastructure megatrends.
“NCC Industry’s extensive operating footprint and strong customer relationships in Denmark and Finland will strengthen our business in the Nordics, enhancing our ability to support customers across key high-growth urban markets and infrastructure end-segments.”
“The divestment reduces NCC’s capital intensity, unlocks significant capital and strengthens our financial flexibility. I am also confident that the divested operations will continue to develop strongly with new owners,” said Tomas Carlsson, president and CEO NCC.
