Cat unveils 336D L excavator

01 June 2010

Cat has introduced the D-Series version of its 336 tracked excavator that offers greater engine power and hydraulic pressure than its C-Series predecessor. In standard specification, the machine weighs in at 37.6 tonnes and a Cat C9 diesel provides power of 200 kW (258 hp).

A number of options are available for the 336D L that are tailored specifically for its use in the demolition role. It can be fitted with heavy-duty triple grouser track shoes for long wear and improved traction, and track guards at both the sprocket and idler ends protect the full track length. In addition, rubber bumpers attached to the upper body protect against damage during slewing. Additional cab guarding includes a full-length mesh window cover and a FOP system

Also optional is Cat's Tool Control System, which allows operators and technicians to set auxiliary hydraulics flow and pressures from the cab. Up to 10 flow and pressure settings can be stored for 10 different hydraulic attachments. The TCS is available in two factory installed configurations - as a stand alone or with a medium pressure circuit and third pump (the latter allows the use of tools that require a rotate function). Two tool quick coupler systems are also available in the shape of a dedicated quick coupler and the Centre-Lock Pin Grabber.
