Cameco’s Andrew Turk joins WDS 2025 speaker programme
28 May 2025
D&Ri is pleased to announce that Andrew Turk, Senior Project Manager at Canadian nuclear fuel provider Cameco, has joined the speaker line-up for the 2025 World Demolition Summit in Nashville, US.

A professional electrical engineer, Andrew has previously worked on remote mining and industrial projects and has led Cameco’s Port Hope remediation efforts for the past eight years.
His role has centred on the company’s long-term environmental programme to clean up legacy waste and modernise operations at the Port Hope Conversion Facility in Ontario.
At WDS 2025, Andrew will present alongside Ryan Priestly, President of Priestly Demolition, to share insights from the dismantling of Building 27 — a decommissioned UF6 plant that was removed as part of Canada’s largest active uranium site cleanup.
The project, which received the Contract of the Year (Over US$1 million) Award at the 2024 World Demolition Awards, involved complex demolition sequencing, stringent safety measures, and close coordination between client and contractor.
Andrew will highlight the owner-side challenges of delivering a high-hazard demolition within a live nuclear facility and explain the strategic planning required to manage risk, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory oversight.
