Boston recycling facility purchased by ReEnergy Holdings

05 December 2012

Renewable energy operation ReEnergy Holdings LLC based in Albany, New York, has acquired a Boston, Massachusetts, construction and demolition waste processing facility formerly owned by United Waste Management. The terms of the deal were not disclosed but 21 UWM employees will be joining ReEnergy.

In a company statement, ReEnergy CEO Larry Richardson said: ““We are very excited to complete the acquisition of the UWM facility in Boston. This addition to our portfolio exemplifies our strategy to build a vertically integrated renewable energy company. The UWM facility will increase ReEnergy’s presence in the construction and demolition (C&D) processing and recycling market in Eastern New England, and in particular will enhance our ability to recycle the C&D debris generated in the City of Boston, converting a significant percentage of the recovered wood into high-quality fuel that will be used to generate renewable energy.”

The acquisition of the facility will complement ReEnergy’s existing eight renewable energy facilities in New England and north New York State, as well as two construction and demolition waste facilities that service the eastern New England/Boston metropolitan areas from locations in Salem and Epping, New Hampshire.
