In response to customer feedback, dust suppression specialist BossTek has introduced a new mobile, mid-sized dust control cannon.

Dust suppression specialist BossTek has introduced a new mobile, mid-sized dust control cannon, in response to customer feedback,

The next iteration of the company’s popular Surge series, the new DustBoss DB-45 Surge features a pressurized center nozzle paired with a 25 hp industrial fan, a misting ring system and a heavy-duty barrel, which together suppress both surface dust and airborne particulates.

Offering three settings, which are accessible via a touchscreen system or a 1,000-ft (305-m) range remote control system, the DB-45 Surge delivers atomized mist that surges for over 200 feet (60 m), even in windy conditions.

“The pressurized spray resists wind shear and uses the force of the wind to further fragment droplets, enhancing its dust suppression capabilities,” said BossTek.

“This is achieved with a maximum of 72 GPM (372 lpm) and as little as 17 GPM (77 lpm) when using only the misting ring and fan. The cannon also features a VFD (variable frequency drive), which allows the unit to operate more efficiently at lower water pressure.”

The DB-45 Surge is equipped with two in-line 30 mesh, 595 micron filters to avoid clogging, allowing it to be used with either potable or non-potable water.

Commenting on the products development, BossTek Dust Control Specialist Mike Lewis, said: “Our first iteration of this technology was larger for operations with high-reach cranes and enormous coverage areas.

“Managers of medium and smaller operations were impressed with the existing technology but wanted a lighter and more compact option that offered the same excellent field-tested versatility and results.

“With a 200-foot (60 m) throw range, I’d say that most of our customers will be well-served by the new model,” Mike added.

Attendees of the 2024 National Demolition Association’s (NDA) conference, Demolition San Antonio, on March 6 to March 9, will be able to see the new dust control cannon at the Live DEMOlition event on Thursday, 7 March.
