Bigwood joins Brokk
21 September 2011
Peter Bigwood has been appointed vice president for sales and marketing at Brokk Inc, the North American subsidiary of Swedish demolition robot manufacturer Brokk AB. His responsibilities will include growing the sales of Brokk's robotic demolition machines in the US and Canada through the development of the company's sales organisation, identifying and penetrating new markets, and enhancing the Brokk brand and market awareness.
Prior to his appointment at Brook, Mr Bigwood spent a year as US president of Australian screening bucket specialist Flip Screen. However, he is perhaps best known in the demolition industry for his 16 years as president of Atlas Copco Construction Tools LLC.
Lars Lindgren, president of Brokk, said Mr Bigwood's familiarity with Brokk's niche markets, along with his enthusiastic personality, were key factors in his appointment.
"Peter has such a great passion for the industry and the Brokk product. This is just the kind of dynamic leadership we need to ensure Brokk is as successful in North America as it has been globally. We've achieved steady growth throughout the years, even in the recent economic downturn, and we're ready to build on that in the North American market," he said.
Brokk has a nine model rang, from the 1100 lbs (500 kg) Brokk 50 to the 12 ton (10.9 tonne) Brokk 800. The company also engineers and builds custom machines with special equipment options such as cameras, extended arms, side-angling devices and cable drums. Brokk says it has a population of 5000 machines worldwide.
