This year’s Bauma China exhibition in November is to be held at two venues around 10km apart in Pudong, Shanghai, in order to meet a “surge” in demand for exhibition space that “exceeded expectations”, said organiser Messe München.

The show will operate a “one show, two venues” format, using the usual Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) alongside the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC), which is 10km further west.

The two venues will operate slightly different dates, with SNIEC open from 24 to 27 November and SWEECC from 23 to 26 November.

There will be a single badge for both venues and free shuttle buses will run between the two. The venues are also connected by metro lines 7 and 8.

Messe München said the addition of SWEECC will significantly increase exhibition capacity and allow it to expand its coverage of new technologies and innovation.

The new venue will include dedicated zones for new energy technologies, intelligent equipment and digital solutions.

SWEECC will host the first Bauma Shanghai 2026 Construction Machinery Technology & Innovation Conference, co-organized with the China Construction Machinery Association.

‘Defining milestone’ for the show

Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe München, said; “The expansion to two venues marks a defining milestone for Bauma Shanghai. Beyond increasing scale, the new venue (SWEECC) creates a dedicated platform for next-generation construction solutions – bringing together global innovators, accelerating knowledge exchange, and actively shaping the future of the industry.”

Su Zimeng, chairman of the China Construction Machinery Association, welcomed the change; “The construction machinery industry is rapidly moving toward intelligent, electrified, green, and international development.

“Leveraging world-class trade fairs to foster technological innovation, global cooperation, and cross-industry integration will effectively drive the industry to achieve high-quality growth.”

Evan Sha, president China & CEO of Messe München Shanghai, added: “The dual-venue expansion of Bauma Shanghai 2026 represents far more than an increase in exhibition scale; it continues our longstanding commitment to quality, professionalism, and industry leadership.

“Operating under a unified brand identity and show concept, both venues will integrate to deliver a more comprehensive, full-spectrum ecosystem platform that strengthens global collaboration across the entire construction machinery value chain.”

The China Construction Machinery Association said key businesses in construction recorded a 10.5% year-on-year increase in revenue in 2025, with a growth rate of 8.4% in the first quarter of 2026.

Messe München said; “Against this backdrop, demand from exhibitors for Bauma Shanghai 2026 has surged, with applications for booths from both domestic and international companies exceeding expectations.”
